What is the difference between MBA and PGDM program?
From the moment one gets out of the college one very intricate question worries and harries our new generation; PGDM or MBA? The purpose behind both these courses is to simply shape up once career. The difference is of course based on Degree and Diploma. The perplexity begins when you see the term Diploma. Numerous students are of the perspective that it is a Diploma course and not a Degree; you are right it is a Diploma.
PGDM extends to Post Graduate Diploma in Management. When an Institute is a self-governing body (i.e. it is not affiliated to any University) and offers administration courses then such Institutes can't offer MBA degree. They can outline their own particular educational modules. The motivation behind why they decided to do so is on the grounds that the educational modules can be upgraded frequently relying upon the need in Industry.
MBA means Masters in Business management. Only those Institute which are affiliated to a university and are not working as independent institute can offer MBA degree. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MBA & PGDM
PGDM-
PGDM course refers to Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
The PGDM Programs usually have four semesters, and sometime also Six trimesters, spread for over two years duration.
It is an IIM based diploma program approved by the AICTE [All India Council of Technology and Education]. It is inventive course, with high flexibility. Being self-governing it is self-motivated with high placements.
AICTE is like a UGC program which conducts both technology and management courses.
The solid fact of PGDM is that its syllabus alters in every 4-5 years as it is Industry based advanced course.
It is a dynamic program in relation to its structure and livability. Apart from this there are guest lecturers, seminars, panel discussions, workshops etc. to help the complete development of student.
Institutes that are not allied to any specific university cannot propose MBA and henceforth, they have provide a certificate i.e. Diploma certificate.
MBA
MBA is referred as Masters in Business Management. It is a Master’s Degree.
This was originated in USA to give a scientific approach to the Management skills.
MBA is an internationally recognized degree awarded to students who have to master the Study of Business.
In India the institutes which are affiliated to a university can offer an MBA degree.
For proceeding MBA outside our country you need to clear GMAT or GRE exams which requires:
letters of references
Good English skills with TOEFL or IELTS skill score.
